Over the summer, Megan and I photographed their engagement in Downtown Los Angeles. This time Josh Yu, Brian Fletcher, Julian, the couples, and I went out into the wilderness in 97 degrees Fahrenheit. The biggest challenge was carrying all the gears down a slope that was all graveled. Traveling in the hottest time of year was unexpected. Luckily, i found a shaded area to photograph James and Susan. As the day went smoothly ignoring the sunburn on my face, this shoot was definitely fun and adventurous. I want to thank those that came out to experience shooting in hot climate.

I can’t stop raving how much i love San Diego. It’s a drive from Yorba Linda, but it’s well worth the photoshoot. Megan Pangan and I had our summer vacation early in June. Exploring downtown and walking the streets of Little Italy, i sometimes felt that i needed a change in location. Speaking from 10 years from now, i really don’t know what will happen. Balboa Park, i have to thank Binh and Kimba for being troopers for shooting in such hot climate. We went around finding the most intimate spots that i felt would bring the love between these two. With the sun setting, the pictures came out to be what i was imagined. Thank you guys again for a lovely day!

Two weeks ago was one of the biggest weddings i had photographed this year. The day started out early with the bride and bridemaids getting their make-up done at the Hyatt Hotel in Long Beach. I remembered this day so well after being fed Lee’s sandwiches and egg rolls as i photographed the morning. With make-up being done to putting on the dress, the bridal party were on their way for the “first look.” Elizabeth was the happiest bride on the block. Pacing herself to meet the man of her life, Liz approached Paul from behind. One thing i can’t forget was the grand entrance to the ceremony. Growing up, i always loved the ocean and found sea creatures to be fascinating. I never thought that a wedding could ever take place in an aquarium, but it gave an idea for future references. Aquarium of the Pacific was the place where Paul and Elizabeth shared vows with one another. As the night went on, surprises were shown on the dance floor. Through months of planning, Paul made Elizabeth’s dreams came true. A grand piano positioned on the dance floor with a talented singer named Matt Giraud who came to perform. Matt was on American Idol season 8 finalist, which he made a stunning performance on their wedding day. The night went smoothly as i went from table to table photographing Paul and Elizabeth greeting their guests. I am thankful to be able to capture their memories.

Through researching and finding an area that best match Ryan and Andrea, Laguna Beach was definitely their shooting ground. It was a place where i could bring out activities that Ryan and Andrea both enjoy doing in their lives. As shown below, Ryan loves to ride the waves of San Onfre. Whereas, Andrea’s passion lies within teaching. Both elegant and fun couples, chalkboards and surfboards were great ideas for the engagement that brought out their smiles.

Is it hot or it’s just fire sirens going off every 10 minutes? To get on with this blog entry, you may have seen this person on TV. You may even seen her as you passed by a very tasty bakery in Santa Monica. Rumanear Pho, an amazing and creative upcoming bride was broadcasted on Food Network Cake Challenge to create a spectacular Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Cake. Guess WHAT? She WON!!! Congratulations Rumy!!! You had the best decorating cake! Further, she works in a well known bake shop called Vanilla Bake Shop. Tons of macroons , stylish colorful cakes, and mouth dripping cupcakes that you can’t resist but to take a bite of it’s rich taste! So go and visit the place with your friends, family, and schoolmates!

Away from work, John and Rumy spent their time going out and making life worth wild. The passion of love was spelled gracefully as i photographed them at Paramount Ranch. As the sun sets within the countryside of Malibu, our time was well spent with laughters. From running with balloons to having a vintage picnic, this engagement session couldn’t been any better. Thank you both for a wonderful time!

In 2008, these two love birds were natural as they were in front of the camera for their engagement session. In 2010 the moment of love and laughter shown in each of their images; their wedding day had finally arrived. With great joy in photographing Tri and Cammie’s wedding with my fellow assistants Megan Pangan and Josh Yu, it was one of the best weddings we enjoyed shooting. The day had two traditional tea ceremony and one traditional wedding ceremony at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center.

As the day went from day to night, they both partied hard in celebration of the moment they’ve been waiting for. Guest cheering and whistling, the reception area was packed with 200 + guests. We all had lots of fun and enjoyed every little bits and pieces of the wedding. I want to thank you Tri and Cammie for all the memories that was shared with us.

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. Megan and I had been camping and spending our vacation in San Diego. I really love San Diego in a way it has so many activities to do. I cannot forget about all the different types of restaurants that made me drool. When we arrived home about a day ago, i could not look at my dinner plate the same way…. Sad but true.

Before our ventures to San Diego, we had an awesome time photographing James and Susan at the Union Station in Los Angeles. It was tough when avoiding the crowd, but thinking of working with small areas turned out to be perfect within the station. We later traveled a couple of blocks down to Downtown Los Angeles. I love Los Angeles and cannot stop raving how much i like the architecture. James and Susan, as natural as they were, photographing them made the day go at ease. Thank you guys for a wonderful time!

Summer is finally here! About a few months ago, i had a pleasure to photograph Patrick and Krystal’s engagement at the Huntington Library with my love, Megan Pangan. The area was filled with strange and exotic plants that i have never seen before. Huntington Library is a gorgeous place for an engagement session. It sets the mood in all areas for a memorable day. Despite of the skeptical security guard, the garden was large enough to escape from publicity. I don’t know why, but almost every place does not allow photography. Especially all the nice areas, why charge $300 for a permit??? = )

To start off, i apologize for not updating my blog. Couple of months have been quite the workload. But i have redeemed myself over the past two weeks. More images will be coming every week.

As far as i can remember, Oakland was such a wonderful place to photograph an engagement. I can’t forget how beautiful and urban the city was. Every where i went, i was struck with great ideas for a perfect moment of two great couples. The day seemed very short. I wish i could have stayed longer. But there is always a next time ( wedding ).

Ryan and Shari, as perfect as they are, their love shows so much through one simple image. On the flight back to Southern California, i was missing NorCal. I can’t figure what attracted me about Oakland–maybe it was the nature scenery or maybe it was a nice quiet place to relax. Who knows?
